Sigh. Is there anyone optimistic enough to see beyond a zero point weekend?

Well they have had a week to lick their wounds. I live in hope.

Sigh. Is there anyone optimistic enough to see beyond a zero point weekend? Unfortunately nope. Finding it difficult to get motivated about games now. Always used to have a sense of optimism going to every game, but now it's more hoping we don't disgrace ourselves too badly. Who knows, we may have the pre season team turn up.....we can but hope.

Result a point. Don't know how they managed that after watching today. We caught Belfast on a very bad night. We have one or two shining stars that are keeping the rest afloat. When plan A doesn't work there is no plan B, ineffective coaching. You would have thought that the players had never played together in the second period they were so disjointed. Even so a good end to a game, I do wish JD would shut up, he got the crowd going and then wouldn't keep quiet. Roll on next week.

To be fair Dingle was out and we lost Anehlov during the game, Jordan Pietrus had a knee injury and played injured in the 3rd. Don't know why Robinson and Cauchaine were on the overtime together, Courchaine was surrounded by all 3 giants and Robinson just stood there which allowed them to win the puck and score winner. A point was more than I thought we would get, Sheffield will slaughter us tomorrow.

Ok, I know the lines had changed today, they have had all week to practice. There is just no imagination from the bench, nothing different works. And why did we take a timeout when we were pressing the Giants going into what could have been a decisive penalty. I thought it was Belfast that called the timeout. This stopped our momentum dead.
Sorry I'm just frustrated.

How OTT were bag searches tonight? Took a piece of fruit off a little girl. She doesn't eat junk food so was obviously supposed to go hungry during the game.

Took some friends today, they had brought food, told them to leave it in the car. I did not have any pockets to keep anything in.

I can understand pop and chocolate but fruit!! Come on have a bit of discression, my friend has permission to take milk in as she can't use the milk in the arena she has the email to prove it and the guy still argued with her. Obviously a jobsworth on a power trip. Set the tone for the night people constantly up and down the stairs often in groups of 3 or 4, then give you a mouthful for pointing out they should wait until the end of game, then some muppets who were sat in the top of block 9 claiming to be giants fans came and sat in our block and were being really intimidating. The family next to us found it quite scary.

Going into the game - a point earned, leaving the game and it somehow feels like a point lost. Giants looked solid but not spectacular and when Kloz isn't on the ice our D looks all at sea, we seriously need to see it restructured. Nastiulk kept us in the game at times despite being pelted by shots - he faced 42 to Whistle's 27, we need to be way tighter.
Negatives : I agree with breezerblaze - plan B seems to be, if plan A doesn't work, stick with plan A. Danny Stewart and James Pease don't fill me with any confidence whatsoever. Unimaginative and inflexible coaching. We need to see some changes in personnel and we need it sooner rather than later. Long term, we're structurally deficient and look like and generally play like a bottom end team
Positives : Thought the PP looked better tonight, better control in their zone and players showing some movement to open up lanes. Real respect to Noble and Pietrus for playing on despite each getting a nasty blow.
Don't know how many we'll be missing tomorrow but I think we're in for a rough ride

Vandemeer slashed Anhelov on the back of the ankle after the whistle. Smith saw it and did nothing apart from smiling at him!. Anhelov out for the rest of the game. How many times did we see Giants players with their arms around the necks of ours with nothing called.?

I was in the explaining hockey mode last night and has to explain why this was happening as the ref only has one pair of eyes, and was quite rightly informed that he (ref) was looking right at them and was only 5 yards away. Can the lineo's call penalties other than bench? Got last nights right there must have been 8 blaze blayers on the ice when that was called.

Yes, they were not Giants or Blaze fans, and have been at the skydome before and supported the away team loudly. I suspected they were not really hockey fans with the way they were behaving, I wouldn't want to lump them with the giants fans who are fine. I don't have a problem with away fans sitting by us and cheering or chanting for their team but these were aggressive and making comments that made us feel as if they wanted someone to fight. Security were brilliant, we weren't sure anything could be done as there was no bad language but they moved them. cant see us getting anything out of tonight's game other than a beating and Nasti getting run.

Well that's one point more than I anticipated and the Sheffield game was closer than I had feared it would be so I'll put those in the plus column
That said, we're now 10th out of 12 teams and the plain truth is that its painfully obvious we're not good enough by a country mile. For as long as DS and management duck this fact we'll continue to scuttle along on the sea bed end of the table
