Takina, any chance of you adding the other signings into your post and maybe editing it each time there is a signing?
Maybe Stu or one of the other admins could pin the post then so it can be found easily?

Have I missed the article confirming Danny Stewart for this season, by the way? I can't seem to find it.

I haven't seen anything either BUT if you read the Clements re-signing post there's some comments about Cements attributed to "Head Coach Danny Stewart" so whilst not definitive there's a strong implication that we have Danny back next season

I'm assuming he's had his contract extended (or was signed for more than one season initially), it would just be nice to have it confirmed officially. We always used to be kept informed of the coaches' position by the club didn't we?

I think he was signed on a 3yr deal. Even so, with the half hearted end of season apology by Andy Buxton (which included the magnificent understatement, "At times we've been not been quite good enough") and the strong (but now scotched) rumour around Lefebvre's return, I think it would be good for the club to issue a definitive statement concerning coaching responsibilities.
To be fair, the one area where I felt the club did improve last season was media and communications so I am a little surprised that the club haven't been a bit more on the front foot

This was the PR from when he was signed and there was no mention of the length of the contract as far as I can see: www.coventryblaze.co.uk/news/danny-stewart-appointed-blaze-head-coach-20160426There's a great quote from James Pease at the end too. It speaks for itself I think: "It was important for us that after Chuck that we appointed somebody who would be able to hit the ground running and Danny will do that."

Jorgenson been released. Gutted about this he always put 100% on the ice and a really nice guy off it.

First time ive said this but I agree with a Stewart decision. He was clearly not at this best last season and we need a clean sweep in defense.

I hope this change in direction heralds the arrival of 4 or 5 big nasty sods who will level anything that crosses the blueline instead of the passive nonsense of the last couple of years where we invite opposition forwards to take their time, skate round and camp in front of our net. We now have the smallest ice in the league and much like cardiff used to we need to build a team designed to play in our building to maximum effect.

Manchester's pad is smaller (same size as Cardiff's was) than Coventry's - but your point is valid. The team should be built for the home games, just like Cardiff have done for years to great effect.

2 years and all we got was a few decent shots. Correct decision.
