There's a nice article on the website where Danny Stewart talks about trying to find chemistry in the forward lines: www.coventryblaze.co.uk/news/stewart-seeking-forward-chemistry-20160922Presumably this means we'll be seeing a change in the make up of them. I hope this means we'll put Bergman with a different centre to try and get him firing. Having him with Pietrus or Zajac who are both right shots would make sense to me. I'd also like to see if Robinson would find his scoring touch alongside Bombis, so I'm hoping for we'll be swapping the centres around on the top 2 lines for this weekend: Bergman - Pietrus - Zajac Marquardt - Robinson - Bombis I think the third and fourth are doing their jobs pretty well at the moment and good as Liam Stewart played last weekend, I think it would be harsh to move someone out of the top 6 to make room for him. Danny Stewart also mentioned the issues we've had with turnovers in the games so far, so hopefully he'll be able to put a system in place to reduce that.

Didn't see the game so this is just interpretation from twitter .... A feisty game by all accounts and seeing some allegations that Klotz sticked Bordeleau in the face - if true and Cardiff have it on film then, rightfully, it'll be lengthy bans to follow. Hopefully it's just an unfounded allegation and nothing more. Conceding two SHG on the same PP is close to criminal in this league and a sub 86% save% for Stewart on the night really doesn't look very clever from here. 3 losses on the bounce now and a big game tomorrow against a Nottingham team that will be higher on confidence having beaten their nearest and dearest tonight.
Gather Cantin left the game early and Cowley was cover - hope he's ok as that 3rd line with Cowley up front has been productive and threatening so far this season I think. Well played too to Godfrey on his goal tonight, looking much more like the threat we wanted and needed last year.
Tough challenge tomorrow, not only do Blaze need to be at their best, they need to keep clear of the damn sin bin.

Bodeleux has said himself it wasn't a stick, and that it isn't the first and won't be the last time he's broken his nose, but it is the first time he's been sucker punched.

Have just seen that tweet. He also mentions Oct 8th (I assume that's because when we next meet them)

Well that was disappointing. A fairly average Panthers squad took us apart quite easily in the end. Some dumb penalties and some dumb plays cost us as Nottingham were way more clinical than us in front of goal. Can't fault the work ethic but sadly it's output not input that matters and I feel we have a couple of invisible forwards in our top 6 right now. Panthers scored 5 from just 19 SoG - no criticism of Stewart to concede 4, their chances were pretty much all high quality and we really didn't do anything like enough to help him out.
Noble did a fantastic job I thought as the wind up and Godfrey, once again, our best player (who'd have thought that last season.) Clearly no need to panic but I think Danny Stewart has some serious thinking to do as we really aren't clicking right now. Pressure will ramp up if we don't get some success next weekend and neither game looks that easy

The effort's certainly there from the players - I'm yet to feel like they've given up at any point during the season so far and I haven't felt that we've been outclassed yet either. We're scoring pretty well, I like the powerplay (the game in Cardiff aside) and Godfrey is a substantially better player than he was last season! It should all be good, but our main issue, the defensive lapses, particularly when we're in possession, is really costing us. We'd have won the game against Belfast without the turnovers and we should've won last night too.
I also feel that the defensive lapses are causing us to take additional penalties, which puts strain on the PK unit and costs us further later on. Last night Cowley took a penalty when he was caught out of position for what I think was the Panther's first powerplay and by the end of the game players were taking penalties out of pure frustration (Liam Stewart's springs to mind).
I can't help thinking that we need to tighten up our systems. If players know where they need to be then the penalty count will reduce and so will the mistakes. I am starting to get nervous as the issues we're trying to deal with are the same as they were at the start of the season. Hopefully we'll start to see improvements and make the most of next weekend's games against somewhat weaker opposition than we've faced so far. That said, I don't expect an easy game from either team and if we lose both then we could well be bottom of everything.
Is this now the worst start we've ever had?

Surely Danny Stewart now needs to find a way of utilising Klotz or he will become a waste of an import spot. Does anyone have any suggestions how he could do this. I noticed how much more physical Nottingham were last night from the cup game - assume this has something to do with having McGrattan in the team now.
