Even for a non faltering side, a double away header at Belfast Fri / Sat followed by a home fixture on Sun against Cardiff is one heck of a schedule. Can anybody see beyond a zero point return ?
Just wish we could find that elusive missing bit of magic, sadly I don't see it happening without changes - both Braehead and Dundee have re jigged their squads a a bit. Wonder if we're looking or if we're going to tough it out for a while longer

I think we can almost write this off as a nil-pointer, Belfast comfortably took the 2 points off us in Coventry, so shouldn't have any issues in the Odyssey, unless Carnevale can have a (very) large impact on our performance. Equally I think that taking two points off Cardiff in our last match was the only time it'll be happening this season, if we could be a bogey-team for them this year then that'd be wonderful, but I can't see us taking anything other than bruises home from that game either.
All in all, not a great weekend for a new signing to be joining us, can't see it doing his confidence any good whatsoever.

On a more hopeful note, if we could take points off Belfast on the Friday, I could see us doing so again on the Saturday. Though I'm still writing Sunday off as a nothing, can't see anything coming from that whatsoever.

Cardiff turned things around quite magnificently last Sunday I thought - showed real character to take the game to Sheffield in Sheffield. I can't see us taking any points off them on Sunday unless Carnevale turns out to be a genetically enhanced dna hybrid clone of Calder & Ginand (sorry I'll turn off the scifi channel)
Belfast are more up and down - they beat us at a canter last week whilst missing 3 key players, that said early in the season we were a hard team to beat and if Carnevale sparks a psychological spike in self belief then I guess anything is possible
On balance, nil points through from me ..... (on a plus note that means any points is a bonus)

If we come away with anything from Belfast given the current form of the two teams, that will be a bonus.
The game against Cardiff on Sunday night is a must win. A loss means that in order to qualify, we're realistically looking at taking 5 points from 6 against Steelers, Storm and Panthers in the remaining 3 games. A win means that 2 points from those games may well be enough.

Think the Cardiff Sheffield switch weekend was two points for either team, both winning home and losing away, I'm a tad surprised that it's the other way around in honesty. Belfast are much better than we are, in every aspect, yet they're not doing so amazingly, maybe we could catch them on the right side of an off night and pick up a point or two.
Much as the game on Sunday is a must win, I don't think we will win, think we're looking at another season where we won't be qualifying past the first round of the challenge cup.

Also, as much as it's a must-win for us, it's a must-win for them as well. Lose to us in regulation and then they have to beat Manchester in their last game and hope other results go in their favour.

I didn't actually know this, I don't really keep up with Challenge Cup standings, had no idea it was so close. Sunday may lead for a good game then, a little desperation from both sides to try and get the edge might bring out the best in us, if we could either shut up shop successfully or (preferably and) actually have a threatening offence then we may be able to take the game from them. As I think we were all saying against Fife, if we score one then you could see us scoring more. I'm hopeful we'll be able to get a cheeky early powerplay goal and give the rest of our guys a little confidence! That said, from a neutral, non-optimistic standpoint, I can't see Coventry taking anything away from this long-weekend, which will leave us 7 games in a row without a win? Maybe 6 if I added one in that didn't happen, I'll check on eliteleague later.

Odds for tomorrow have been announced, and we're far from being favoured. 4/1 for Coventry and 2/5 for Belfast. I know who I'd be betting on and it certainly isn't Coventry.

That's a big ouch. We certainly seem to have dug a deepish hole for ourselves. At least the DOPS decision means we're not an import short. Any news on Tait?

From twitter it would appear that Tait has travelled but is not icing

Well, fair play to the blaze, we finally find ourselves on the right side of a tight one goal battle. I think we deserved the win, and played sensibly and solidly. Good defensive play, and much more simple, more effective stuff going forward. Keep the confidence going now. Just hope we've still got enough left come Sunday.

Fantastic result, have to admit to being a doubter and I had us down for a zero point weekend. Looking at the highlights, I thought that Bergman's goal was an absolute pearl. Here's hoping that the travelling support have something else to cheer about tonight.

Good to get a win and go into tonight with a bit of confidence, need to keep discipline.

Well well well, two points more than expected, can only wonder what we'll be doing tonight. As I said before, I'm inclined to say we'll win as we won last night, completely torn for tonight.
Odds for tonight are 4/9 and 16/5... So very fractionally better for us I suppose.
I'm going to claim 1-3 as a final score and hope for the best.

Hoping for a bit better tonight but I still see the double header as 2 points gained overall. Hope we have Godfrey back tomorrow
Think our home game v Cardiff will be tough, 3 games back to back is hard in any league, not feeling too confident to be honest

Well last night was disappointing, I know we shouldn't really expect 4 points from a double away header in Belfast but I can't help get my hopes up after a successful Friday. Oh well, as Takina said, it's 2 points gained opposed to 2 lost.
Tonight is going to be hard, we're going to have to be firing on all cylinders in order to take the win, not too optimistic in honesty.
There are no odds for tonight at all yet, they may be released later so I'll keep an eye out, though I don't think they will be.

So dissapointed tonight. I thought going forward we were pretty pathetic. A few odd man rushes where we didn't even get a shot on target. All the time in the world to set up something on the final 3on1 break and just bugger it completely up. On the other side we seem to have players completely scared of shooting. Robinson was on his own with the puck at one point and instead of getting a shot in, passes to another player being marked by 2 Devils. Mental

Well that's one game I didn't think we were going to win. I just think that we (Devils) try and be too fancy in front of net.
One thing I do question, is putting the drums in block 8. I understand the main reason was to stop away fans heckling Stewart but that was only sporadic whereas the drums are continuous and mind numbing. It must drive Stewart crazy !!
