I was about to reply on the other thread but thought it would start to go off topic.
So rumours....

Weber out and Danny Stewart in Fisher re-signed If I'm honest then exceptional penalty shots aside, I'm not convinced that Fisher's done enough. He works hard off the puck and puts in the hits, but I don't think he has the pace to be in the top 6 and I was expecting him to score more than he has. The penalty shots won't be as useful when we go to 3 on 3 OT next season either. I've read the Danny Stewart rumour on a lot of forums and heard it over the playoff weekend. Simmsey also said on a periscope that he expected Stewart to get a coaching job this season, but that it wouldn't be with Fife, so it might have started there. I'm hopeful it's just people adding 2 and 2 because it would seem like a step backwards and not the legacy Weber talked about leaving when he joined. The only other rumour I've heard is that all the brits are returning - but then most people would have assumed that anyway!

It will be interesting to see if we can get Lewis Hook to come. Pete Russell seems to be signing players to two years, one more year in the EPL and then the following season when they become an expansion team.

I'd assume David Clements will be back (given he didn't like the travel from Cov to MK because of his uni course and he's got a couple more years left on it, oh, and that he's a pretty decent EIHL prospect on D...)
I've also heard the Weber to leave/Stewart to come in rumours. Possible that Weber isn't leaving and Danny Stewart is coming in as his assistant?

That would seem strange to me as I can't see why Weber would choose Danny as his successor as he's not exactly one of his guys. If the Blaze are choosing his assistant then it could undermine him and if they have already decided Stewart's the guy for the future then why not just appoint him now and save Weber's salary for the player budget? We seem to have dropped lucky with Clements and his situation - I don't suppose Hook or any of the other two-ways are in a similar position?

If weber goes I can't see past tait and pease That would definitely be the easiest option for the directors, but does it fit the "be the best we can be" mantra?

So many rumours flying around, most turn out to be untrue so we will just have to wait and see, I agree with above as far as Danny Stewart is concerned think that would be a step backwards. Possibly Tait could take on the role as player coach for a year under a good mentor as he lives and breaths Blaze, although as pointed already Pease has been on the bench a lot of the season maybe a Pease / Tait combo. I would rather see a coach stand alone rather than a player coach.

Could the Danny Stewart thing be also linked to his ties to Coventry? His partner is from Coventry, not sure what the situation is, but maybe he's looking at moving back down here?

Brad Cole is rumoured to be coming to us on the inferno (Cardiff Devils forum).
I can't see any logical reason for the connection, so it could be random enough to be true?

I've heard both Bruton and Fisher are retiring.

I'm not sure as to whether Elite Prospects tells you if a player goes into coaching or not, but it says that Danny Stewart is retiring, unsure as to whether this backs up the rumour or debunks it, or is completely irrelevant

He's retired from playing, but all that means is that if he does come to us then it won't be as player coach. He could still be our full time coach or assistant.

I suspect he was running the behind the scenes show at Fife and did well at Newcastle. Both lower table teams - which is what we are. A very bright and thoughtful chap, if Chuck moves on I'd be happy to see him back in Coventry.

I don't see weber leaving at the moment. He's got a new baby, family is settled, and he wanted so much more for blaze. He won't leave until he's achieved more, been the best he can be!

The longer Weber stays the more his coaching stock goes down imo. He won the playoffs and took us to the finals. He won't achieve much more apart from a possible top 5 finish but we won't win the league. 1st season he needed a job and last season he saved a ton of money having his baby here. Not sure what else there is to make him want to stay now.

A lot will come down to what Chuck wants from his life and in particular how much time he's prepared to spend away from his family. If he went back to the KHL or North America for example then he'd have to spend considerably more nights away from them than he would in the EIHL. I guess it also depends on if him and his wife are considering adding to the family.
Is Chuck travelling to Zagreb with Team GB? If so, we're unlikely to hear anything until they return in two weeks time.

Despite not knowing what's going on with Weber just now, I really feel the club need to start working on the rebuild of the team. Look at the structure, roles and responsibilities each player should hold when we sign them. Even start signing players if they find them.
