Oh jen, you're so cynical .... Realistic with this team!! I really do hope we make an effort though, if they leave it all on the ice and still lose then I will go away happy but if we play with a cant be bothered attitude I won't.

The incident if you haven't seen it yet, skip to 3 minutes to watch it up close. I have seen it and still maintain that you will see a dozen similar hits in a game. I didn't post that as an indirect dig, that was in case people hadn't seen the incident and wanted to know what was being discussed.

And so it's game day now, odds have been released as 4/6 for Cardiff and 23/10 for Coventry... Very generous if you ask me.

All joking aside, I totally agree with Jen - play well and give it all they've got and I'll be happy win or lose. What I saw on the webcast against Edinburgh was just appalling and I hope against hope that we can lift ourselves higher than that level of ineptitude.

I don't know where the first period team came from but the regular players turned up for the 2nd and 3rd!

Period one massive response from the boys, we silenced the devils fans, so what happened in period 2 and 3? I have to say I like the line of Pietrus with the two new guys and pleased to see Clem get a goal and man of the match. To see the look on some players faces as they left the ice was heartbreaking, you can see the players who care!!!

Decent effort tonight but should've really gone for the kill when Murdy replaced Bowns, feels like a missed opportunity to have got the win. Saying that our players just aren't good enough. Matt Marquardt is shocking, little effort and less ability closely followed by Cantin and Boutin. Feel sorry for Brian Stewart, no protection at all in front of him. We will win a few games now and then but can't see us getting a play off spot. If the current owners and Pease remain next season I won't be renewing my season ticket for the first time in 11 seasons of going to the blaze.

Why didn't we have Selby tonight to replace Venus??

We have so much going in our favour; home ice advantage, full complement of imports, rested squad, only one game to play in the weekend plus players mgmt and fans desperate for a win With all of this, I'm pretty confident that we can keep the margin of defeat to no more than 3 Good call!!!! 😂

Well the team that started and the one that finished were two very very different sides, you could almost see the confidence evaporating and we ended up looking the same shambolic mess that we were in Scotland. Once they pulled Bowns that was it - they tightened up and we had absolutely no answer - they were bigger, stronger, faster, better drilled and ran rings round us. We've now conceded 23 goals in 4 games and our defensive ineptitude is beginning to match our goal scoring prowess.
Cardiff are a damn good team - I thought their forecheck was really, really good and they pass the puck so well. They are a good team to watch and play entertaining, intelligent hockey. By comparison you can see why we're so firmly anchored in 10th place, this is probably the most despondent I've ever felt about the Blaze and without significant change I think this season is already a write off

Another misleading game. Play well for a period with a couple of promising powerplays the revert to type. I accept we are not in Cardiff's level of ability but its too easy for them to win. Too many players coast around stealing a living while others are non-stop for 60 minutes. Without significant change to the club as a whole, and a removal of the general denial in place, then sadly this once great club will finish in 10th a lot more than it does 5th. The first immediate change needs to be Pease. Offers little, responsible in the main for the last few years shambolic coaching and recruitment appointments and, when the club had sunk to its all time low last week, gave the most uninspiring interview ive heard. I was suckered in to renewing my ticket this season but I can assure them that this will not happen again whilst this same management remains in place.

We are also considering whether to stay next season. We think if we stopped coming we would miss our friends more than we would miss the hockey.

The social aspect is the biggest draw however im sure we can arrange monthly get togethers for less than the tickets cost for that period and still have fun.

Thanks heavens for bubble ball. Without that there would be no serious competitive action on the ice!
