From a triple away header to a single home battle, only a third as many points up for grabs, yet I have a sinking feeling although we'll be getting just as many as we did against the Scots.
0 points as far as I can see, and if I had to guess a scoreline I would be half tempted to say they'll shut us out. 0-3? Probably more.

I won't be there for this, nor will I be watching the webcast. I'll be interested to know what kind of reception the crowd give the team and the coach following the weekend's results, especially if it goes the way I'd expect and we fall behind pretty early.
We're looking at our 18th loss so far this season, but to be honest that's not what will matter for this game. What's important is that we see some kind of improvement, that there's a response and we at least give Cardiff a game.
I don't think Danny Stewart should still be in charge, but I expect he will be - surely this is his last chance to show the club and fans what he's getting paid for.

Work and family comitments means we won't be going. Let the team turn it around.
If DS is given the push who is there to take over? An assistant from Sheffield/Nottingham? Learn your mistakes at coventry and be succesful elswhere!

If DS is given the push who is there to take over? Good question. Right now, I'd put Tait/Cowley in charge, if nothing else then it'll save a few quid. After that you have to look at who's out there and not just take on someone you know that's out of work/looking for a promotion...

I have always said to little Millie that i we won £30M on the eurolottery I would buy the blaze. My problem would be that I would be there at all times, know all the staff, get to know all the coaches and players, instead of running it as a business where the results are (in reality) the only thing that counts.

If it were me I'd be rid of Danny this weekend, and unfortunately just write this season off, let Tait get some coaching experience and accept we're not going to win anything (we won't get any worse I suppose?), or even compete. Use the money we save to invest into a real coach, of Weber's quality, and hopefully whoever it is will be more than capable of actually signing and coaching a winning team for a change.
I know we're not the richest club in the country, I'm not expecting a team that'll win every game and a grand slam with it, but I do want us to compete, and if we keep signing the same team with different names and numbers it'll never happen. We need a big change, and we need it before the fans give up on the club altogether.

Looking forward to seeing the two new guys but I too can't see beyond another 2 point loss.
Listened to the Pease interview (you know) and it rather looks (you know) as though DS (you know) has the support of mgmt (you know) - so, much as I think we need change, I don't see it coming, at least not just yet

After that you have to look at who's out there and not just take on someone you know that's out of work/looking for a promotion... The jobs for the boys culture has to stop. the lazy appointments have to stop. How does pease justify his position? What has he contributed? Coaches have been coming and going, nothing has improved (even under chuck, arguable the highest profile coach we have had/could have had). the few constants remain the owners and the jobs for the boys culture. Tait/cowley for a few games maybe but definitely not a solution. This would just be more of the same. Who is there to take over? Not a clue but then its not my job to know. If we limp to the end of the season then I would be all for having a player coach next year, new to the league and with some fresh ideas. And a certain #22 gone for good. Thanks for all your service but its time to go.

Just can't see us getting anything from this game at all, I expect half empty rink too. I really hope I'm wrong but doubt it.

Venus is banned (Checking to the head vs Fife) for this one. Will we be calling up Matt Selby?

I wonder to what extent playing just one game in the weekend changes the team attitude. Do they approach the game with more of a, "Full speed ahead and damn the torpedoes" attitude or do they do that anyway?
Good point raised by chunk re Selby, personally I'd have him in.

Oh - meant to comment, think that the Venus call was fair and boy oh boy but Cowick is lucky to get away with 6 - barging the ref and then shoving the lino could have gained an extra couple when 6 is the minimum tariff. He deserves it in full.

I'd definitely have Selby for the game. If you're a forward short and likely to be carrying a couple of knocks (it's a fair assumption for any team this time of year) - then the extra depth will be useful. I also agree with the decision on Venus - the evidence on the tape was pretty clear.

Surprises me on Venus if I'm honest, he always seems to be calm and not the kind to take a dumb penalty, yet he did it plain as day, maybe my eyes are a turning a little rosey over the years...
I'd like to see Selby, it's my understanding that we're paying his wages so we get first call on him? It's games where we're a player down that he'll be needed to be the extra pair of legs, surprised he didn't come with us up to Scotland (or did he? I haven't looked for him on any game sheets so he may have done for all I know).
I think we're going to lose, if we play the way we did up in Scotland then we won't stand a chance, but if things just bounce our way then we won't be gutting the hen quite yet. I think (hope) we'll do slightly better than 0-3, perhaps 2-3 or 2-4? Depends on how the Devils play and if we've made any improvements since Sunday.

I also agree with the decision on Venus - the evidence on the tape was pretty clear. You will see a dozen hits like that in every game. If the ref called all of them then there wouldn't be enough players left on the bench to play the 3rd period. Venus got called because the other player went down and stayed down.

We have so much going in our favour; home ice advantage, full complement of imports, rested squad, only one game to play in the weekend plus players mgmt and fans desperate for a win
With all of this, I'm pretty confident that we can keep the margin of defeat to no more than 3
