Looks like a great signing, should bring some goals to the table. Looks like an upgrade on Walker, certainly in terms of intensity and speed.

Looks a good signing to me too - I'm guessing he'll be our top line sniper and should be good for 25-30 goals. Hopefully we're on the lookout for a top quality centreman to get him the puck and if Chris Bruton came back then we'd have an excellent top line.

I would love it if we could sign Bruton, play him with Pietrus and Robinson, and then sign two first-line calibre forwards to play with Bergman. Wishful thinking perhaps, but would be great to have a line that can hit the ground running. EDIT: Scratch that, with Fisher returning I don't know how that will work... If we can go to four lines, I really want to see Fisher on the third.

I guess we could have Venus, Stewart and Selby together - they were all part of the GB under 20's squad a few years ago. That way Fisher could play alongside Cowley and Tait. I think I'd rather have an import with two of the youngsters though.

Have to say, I'm a tad optimistic about the coming season. Now we just need to sign Bruton........

This signing just oozes quality. He brings a lot of experience and similar stats to some of the best in our league. Well done Blaze.
So, where are we in terms of top 2 lines? Bergman, Fisher, Pietrus and Robbo take up spots I assume.

Lets hope he continues his form from his old club and doesn't do the usual blaze thing of being a let down.

Great signing but I was surprised to see Fisher back and will be interested to see where he ends up - if is the seventh forward then Fish is a good signing. This guy looks great, need another top guy though!

Correct and im fairly certain I heard him say we were not having the full 14 imports. If this is the case then its a missed opportunity.

I thought he said we weren't going to have 14 imports but was not sure with his brummie twang, if that's the case we must be going 11 forwards and six d and selby could play d or forward depth without 4 lines.

Sadly phil I believe that's the case which would be a huge own goal. We are already up against it in our conference without wasting the chance to have 4 competitive lines and a full roster.

Think you might be assuming a bit much here. Blaze can hardly afford three lines without a cheaper signing here and there.
What Pease has said actually explains a lot. With us not going after fourteen imports we can go after less, but with higher quality overall. I know he's classed as an import, but with that not an issue, Liam effectively acts as a Brit that's already hit the ground running in terms of training.
Selby and Liam will be rotated it seems.

Didn't Nottingham start last season with less than the full complement of imports believing their British depth would make up the gap only to have sign extra imports later? Pretty poor strategy in my opinion - as the season progresses bodies take longer to recover and you need the extra players. I've liked what I've seen so far in terms of signings but I find this news a little concerning

We had 14 imports last season with carrying a spare with a much more expensive coach too! If we do not have the full compliment of imports then I fear we are yet again in for a season of struggle. There is no need for rotation of any forwards. Sign 8 imports and we can ice 4 complete lines. What happens if Cowley or Tait get injured and we are then short when we don't need to be.

I don't believe Nottingham did that. Besides, what else can they do? The budget won't stretch that far.
