Good to see Syner getting a goal for us, but considering our other two were from Klotz and Godfrey, the rest of our forwards really need to sort themselves out. The very most we can get now is two from six, and in honesty I'm doubtful we'll even get that.
Odds tonight are in our favour! 5/6 for Coventry and 9/5 for Edinburgh, think I might be putting a few on the Caps, I can't see us getting the win.
I can't see how our problem could be anything but management, numerous different coaches with almost complete team overhauls and yet we're still turning promising and capable players into a waste of legs. Prayers going out to some rich Canadian business men...

I don't think it helps when owners are so involved in the actual team. Of all the coach changes and problems, hasn't Pease remained on the bench through it all?

Maybe a case of a fool and his money but for some reason completely unsupported by the facts I feel strangely upbeat about tonight and have gone for the webcast. Wonder if I'll be quite so upbeat around 8.30? Either way it doesn't hide the facts that the Blaze do need an inquest day and work out how on earth they managed to get to this state and how on earth they're going to get out of it

I have now have sound too, looks as though it's happy with an HDMI cable, not happy chromecasting
Mind you, maybe it would be better with no sound and no picture .....

Feel although we've had this conversation before, just on other ends... 8-2 is absolutely disgraceful, the fans deserve better than this and if the club don't do anything about it then they'll just stop coming, we can chop it down to the new guys only just arriving or it was a long triple header or any other nonsense, but I'm willing to bet if Nottingham were to have the same weekend in a weeks time they'd be getting at least 4 points, probably 5 or 6. It was around this time a few seasons ago we released both lefebvre and soderstrom, and you could argue they did a better job than Danny has too. Much as it would've been nice for it to work out between us, it clearly hasn't, as far as I'm concerned he's as good as gone. I'm struggling to even think of some positives about tonight, don't suppose anyone who watched it knows anything that you can't see from the stats? And finally on an unrelated note, I hope Rutherford is okay, he's a talented player and it'd be a shame to see him go due to injury. Hope he recovers soon.

Feel although we've had this conversation before, just on other ends... Ha - that joke's the only high point of my night. No Chinese but currently onto my nth g&t but the pain still hasn't receded..... Like you, I can't find a positive about this long, long, long weekend, so dreadfully easily & comprehensively beaten. Watched the first 2 1/2 periods of the webcast and for me it was a case of the stats don't lie - we really were that poor. Owners have made some lazy coaching signings in the past I think with Matty / Marc. Either Chuck was arrogant or poorly advised in his squad selection last year but at least he knew his job and could coach. Loved DS as a player - tenacious and never backed down, sadly I think he's out of his depth as our HC and I don't see him leading us to anything other than our worse ever season. Sad times but I think we're carrying at least 3 of our top 6 and we need to get rid of either Cantin or Boutin for someone who knows how to keep the crease clean. Candidly, if we were to release DS + another 4-6 players I would not be that unhappy. I genuinely believe that our mgmt team are ambitious for the club - they've given DS funds to sign new players but my god, they've been in situ for long enough now, yet still seem to make the same mistakes. If you want a winning a team, unless you a lucky or rich, sign a winning coach

Been following on twitter the last three nights and each have been 1-2-3 so early in the game. My wife kept on saying what was up every time I groaned while she was watching the grumpy scot on tv.
I have not been bored at the skydome this season at all, in previoius years it has been tedious at times. Maybe siting next to about 10 drums and having a bell and horn helps. It is entertaining in and around block 8 and the new(er)? scorch is very entertaining. Now maybe he should be on the bench running the lines!

If there was such a stat as, points per minutes of ice time, would Klotz be our leading light?

Danny Stewart again talks about the problems we have scoring in his post match interview: www.coventryblaze.co.uk/news/triple-header-ends-with-caps-defeat-20161120He say's they were tired and low on confidence. Why we're tired when we're running full strength with four lines and arrived a day early is beyond me. No mention of the defence or any real explanation of why we conceded 17 goals in 3 games against Gardiner opposition by the way...

Only one positive from the weekend was the support (as usual). Something stinks at the moment. I can take losing but not in that manner

It was around this time a few seasons ago we released both lefebvre and soderstrom, and you could argue they did a better job than Danny has too. Much as it would've been nice for it to work out between us, it clearly hasn't, as far as I'm concerned he's as good as gone. From the stats I've kept the last few years, which include all league, cup and playoff games: Matty was given 47 games and won 18 of them (38.3%) before being released. Marc was given that remainder of the season (15 games, won 7, 46.67%) and the first 24 of the next season (won 10, 41.67%). Chuck had 38 games (won 19, 50%) after an interim period of the team being run by Goertzen and Egener and the whole of the next season (64 games, won 27, 42.19%). Danny's had 24 (won 7, 29.17%). There were some extenuating circumstances when Matty was in charge. It was never going to be easy following Thommo and losing Egener and Schutte from the squad just before the season started certainly didn't help. Chuck's second season also included a continental cup trip, but I didn't include those 3 games (won 2) in his stats.

It might also be worth mentioning that when LeFebvre was gassed we were 7th in the league and not out of the cup, although we were relying on the final group game going our way (which it did). We were 8th when Matty was shown the door.
If Danny Stewart isn't released on the back of these results then I'd love an explanation from the club that say's what they're seeing that I'm not. I'd also love to know why Chuck's contract wasn't extended.

Keep Stewart and improve the d. We have no big out and out defender. If we can keep it clean at the back the goals will start to come

I would like to know why players were tired? They travelled up on Thursday, if they tire so easily maybe they have the wrong job?

I seem to remember Ashley Tait being made player assistant coach, if I'm right then why is Peasey on the bench?

just back from a difficult weekend in Scotland. 300+ blaze fans did not deserve what was served up. So so angry right now. Things have to change and pronto. Forward lines are not working. we cannot string 2 passes together. its always to the skate or behind never to the tape of an onrushing player. The powerplay is effing abysmal. We go backwards too much. we don't go to the net. we didn't hit a single caps player all night. The D need to have a word with themselves. We are carrying players at the moment except no one is strong enough to do it. As much as I love brian stewart, teams have him worked out now. The longer he stays the worse his figures will become as all teams know how to beat him. Though it doesn't help that we allow teams to skate in on him at will.
At some point I will calm down but after spending north of £800 for 4 people this weekend to be treated to a shocking effort and even more shocking attitudes I do not want to go on sat night the way I am currently feeling.

Keep Stewart and improve the d. We have no big out and out defender. If we can keep it clean at the back the goals will start to come Last season's D: Valabik Jorgensen Noble Godfrey (seemingly carry an injury all year) Clements Quesnele (first year pro) This season's: Cantin Boutin Noble Jorgensen Clements Godfrey (fully fit) I've been critical of our defence so far, but on paper I don't think it's any worse than what we had last season, as far as the CVs go at least. Are we missing Valabik that much or are we not getting the best from the players we have and, if we are missing that style of defender then why have all the changes been made to the forward lines, while nothing's happened to the D all season?
