So 4 lines next year? We only need 1 more Brit to have 12f and 6d

Excellent welcome back Ash, still hoping for Clements and Bruton.

Good to see Selby signing. Wondering how the team will shape up now. With the full import quota we could do 4 lines.
Are there any other decent Brit D available? Might be a gamble on the D but we could run with 3 full import forward lines, Ash, Cowley, Venus 4th line. Then 4 import D + Selby/Clements rotating + another brit d.
The D might be risky but i think we'd have one of the top 4th lines in the league and they could play a lot of minutes keeping the others fresh.

Is Clements signed up yet? I hope the budget can stretch that far, I think the difference in depth ultimately showed itself the most in the final. We had the skill and the mentality, but we just didn't have the legs that the panthers did. Really pleased to see Selby back, always played with an edge, and with Griff lost to MK, I'm glad we're holding on to him and Venus (and hopefully Clements?). I think the PR said there would be another signing before the end of the week, that will probably give us more clues as to the direction the club will go in.

I think Selby has been brought in as a 4th line forward. Both he and Cowley can play D in the case of injuries which will help. I reckon we'll go 5 import D + Clements, 8 import F + Tait, Cowley, Venus, Selby. Unless Lewis Hook suddenly becomes available, I think we may be done in terms of Brits.

Is that enough personnel for four lines?

I believe so, assuming we sign the full import quota (14). We currently have 7 imports (3D, 3F, 1G), and 6 Brits (1D, 4F, although Selby can be either, 1G). So that means we need two more import D, leaving us 5 import spots for forwards, 3 top 6 forwards, and 2 bottom 6. So it could definitely be done based on the amount of Brits and the amount of available import, I guess we'll just have to see how far the budget can stretch.

On 30th June, Coach Stewart said our next signing was imminent? Anyone heard any more on this?

There's a couple of players who are rumoured to the league: Matt Marquardt has apparently said he's going overseas to get a masters this year, which could mean the EIHL. Sean Bentivoglio has started following EIHL teams and a couple of Cardiff players (so he's most likely going to the Devils). It depends how much you read into the "Huge signing" post on twitter, but it could be big stay at home defenseman... That's all I've got anyway

Matt Marquadt it is. Quite an impressive signing, he's got some production and some size. A high scoring power forward would suggest we've given up on Bruton, but he looks to be a worthy replacement.
