I'd love them to sign Chris bruton he made a huge impact on our team this season Same here, he'd be the first one I'd talk to. Without trading him for Neil Trimm, I don't think we'd have made the finals weekend.
A lot will obviously depend on who our coach is going to be (personally I hope it's Weber), but I'd like to keep the core of the group together as we were looking strong at the end of the season.

I'd love them to sign Chris bruton he made a huge impact on our team this season For me, getting Chris Bruton back would be essential, regardless of the coach. Leading points scorer in the playoffs, nearly 1.5 points per game for Coventry during the regular season - so there's plenty of offense there. Also has the physical edge and creates space for his linemates. Surely any coach would want to have him? The question I guess is, would he want to re-sign for a team where the coach isn't 100% clear at this point?

The question I guess is, would he want to re-sign for a team where the coach isn't 100% clear at this point? That probably applies to a lot of players, so signing a coach (if they haven't already) is surely the priority. If it's a new coach then they'll need to be brought in fairly soon to give them a chance to evaluate the current squad and put their own stamp on recruitment. Even the Brits are affected this season because of the increase to 14 (11+3) imports - the coach has the option to release one and put the budget to an import, so sticking with 10F and 6D, keep them all and add an import for 10F and 7D or even try to stretch the budget to an extra brit and run with 12F and 6D.

There was a suggestion on twitter that Weber won't be back...no idea where that came from, but personally I would have him back. We need to keep the core of our best players from this season and it seems we have started in that direction. Bruton is one that I would be very happy to get -re-signed.

Id like them all back apart from Walker, Fisher, Isaacs and Lauzon. I think we may see hook this year as well.

I like them all back apart from Walker, Fisher, Isaacs and Lauzon. I think we may see hook this year as well. I want Walker back for the goals if nothing else. He scored 10 in 19 in the league, without any kind of pre-season, so should be good for at least 30 next season.
I'd like to see him back on a line with Robinson as I think those two had great chemistry.
If we sign Hook then I'd hope he gets a chance on a scoring line with a couple of imports (Pietrus and Bruton), so he can develop and shine rather than getting lost in a defensive role on the 3rd/4th.

I feel once teams knew walker had a good shot he was closed down to quick and then struggled. I think you could find someone else who has a bit more to his game.

Noble is back for a second year and from memory doesn't Stewy and Noble have a second year too? Stewart will be back next season as his contract stated, Noble however (as far the fans were made aware) was never on a two year contract, but the club have confirmed he's returning. I really hope we can keep Bruton. It's been a long time since I've seen a player arrive with a bit of everything like he does. He's pretty much the last player I would like to see return from last seasons squad.

Agreed re Chris Bruton, plays like a power forward without too many dumb penalties.

I read it as noble has signed a 2year deal so will be here next season and the expansion season too. Happy with that. I love his attitude and willing to get in the way of the puck. Would like to see a couple of brutes at the back too a la lee/Robinson or schueller/belak who will hit anyone who crosses our blue line.

Agreed about Bruton. I worry about the state of our defence if we keep anyone other than JJ or Noble... I don't think we gave Stewart any sort of protection last season.

Agreed on Bruton. I'd also want to bring Cowley and Tait back. Both really committed to the team. Cowley, in particular, really played well in the playoffs. I would consider Tanaka, but playing him more on the left rather than on the right as he drifted into dead-ends too often.

Chris Bruton is a must without doubt a top player , Clements is also a must again a good brit with a bright future, Lauzon for me drifts in and out of games so not fussed, Fisher I would give another season he does a lot of dirty work allowing freedom for team mates, Walker I thought was fantastic the first part of his arrival but seems to have drifted away lately still on the fence with him, Cowley for me has been a breath of fresh air this season really getting stuck in, Tait the rascal still can do it and has a wealth of experiance to pass down and last Boris, he has great passing stick to stick but not sure he cost us a lot of games and from what I hear he is being paid we could have 2 or 3 players for his wage certainly not worth his wage bill

So import wise am I right that we have : Stewart / Noble /Jorgenson / Godfrey / Pietrus / Robinson ? Godfrey has been a real disappointment to me since Nov but I think he's on a 2 year, more than happy with rest Would like to see Weber / Bruton / Valabik / Tanaka & Quesnele re-signed Happy if we release Lauzon / Fisher / Walker & Isaacs Need to keep all our UK guys and with the promotion of MK to Elite status in 2 yrs we need to think carefully about our 2 way deals which haven't really done so much for us so far
